Reigning in life

A song of encouragement, the need of Reigning in life

1. How I love Your reigning life, Lord.
How I love abundant grace.
How I love to have Your presence,
As I live before Your face.

By Your life, Lord, I am reigning.
I am over, over everything.
As I'm joyfully confessing,
Jesus, as my Lord and King.

2. Sin, you helpless little fellow,
Lost your pow'r on Calvary.
I have made exchange of masters,
Now it's Christ who rules in me.

3. World, with all your little trappings,
You oppress with doubts and cares.
I have found a new provider,
My anxiety He bears.

4. Self, you cruel manipulator,
You are wholly crucified,
I have no more need to struggle,
In Christ's vict'ry I abide!

5. Lord, when You return in glory,
When You then the kingdom bring;
By Your life my Lord then make me
Manifested as a king.

Now it's Christ who rules in me. Pray for maturity in life and the discernment of the thoughts and intentions of our hearts.

Saved in life to reign in life for the Body life

God saves us judicially, but much more in His life He is saving us each day organically. The purpose of us being saved is not merely to be saved from perdition, but we were saved to reign in life. This reigning in life is to overcome and rule over all negative things. The Lord Jesus has conquered death, He is resurrection life. When we are regenerated we received this divine life, and thus have an inner sense of life. During our daily life, we need to take heed to our spirit obeying the sense of life within us.

To reign in life is to also submit to the authority and rule of the Lord. He is the overcoming One, the One who is above all! We honor Him as the Head, holding Him as our Head, that He may be enthroned within our hearts. Only when we come under His ruling are we able to reign in life. The Lord desires us to reign in life for the Body life, the corporate spiritual entity that expresses and represents Him. The church is the Body, being built together through the supply of grace and life. Encouraging one another, loving one another in Christ.

I'm grateful for the Lord's divine dispensing. We simply are open to the flow of the life juice that saturates our entire being. Praise the Lord! We are saved in life to reign in life for the Body life.

His Speaking

For some reason, today this song came back to me and I realized I had written a little bit about it previously here.

O Love, that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

O Light, that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to Thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in Thy sunshine's blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.

O Joy, that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain
That morn shall tearless be.

O Cross, that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from Thee;
I lay in dust life's glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

The Lord is there if we are willing to turn to Him. Sometimes we look to the Lord for a direct speaking, but oftentimes it is through His Word in which we are enlightened. Lately I have to admit I've been a bit dry, not reading enough each day. Anyway, there's a certain phrase that has been repeating within me since the winter training messages. I'm not sure if this is what you'd consider a 'direct speaking' from the Lord. So it compelled me to look into a few verses:

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life" (1 John 1:1)

The NTRV footnote for the word "handled" mentions that these terms of hearing, seeing, and handling implies that the Word of life is not only mysterious but indeed tangible. A cross reference verse is in Luke 24:39 referring to the Lord telling Thomas to "touch Me and see" after His resurrection.

In relation to touching the Lord:

"And he fell on the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (Acts 9:4)

When we touch the Body, we touch the Lord. Our honoring of the Lord is our honoring of each of His members. Our loving of the Lord is our loving the brothers and sisters. Both human and divine.

Love untold

Someone once asked me what does the expression "love untold" mean. I couldn't explain it very well at the time. Considering it now, it has the uderlying meaning of loving someone dearly but without them fully understanding exactly how much you do. So it made me think, what if a person lived their entire life not knowing the Lord loves them?

Oftentimes a person is hesitant to tell someone how they feel in fear of rejection or feelings being unrequited. However in this case we know God loves man, 'we' being those who have touched the Lord's love. I guess I come to realize we shouldn't be so afraid to tell others that God loves them. Even if the feeling wasn't mutual, wouldn't you still want to know? Even if your're weren't expecting it or not interested, wouldn't it better to know in case one day there was a change in heart? As the banner song goes, the goal of the gospel is that loving the Lord Jesus with our best love...

Lately I've also been pressed with the words proper understanding. Sometimes people try to fully analyze and figure things out before taking action. They need "proper understanding" or reassurance. It is important to be rational and soberminded. However there is also our instinct and intuition which we shouldn't completely ignore. A lesson to learn is not only listen and trust the leading of the Spirit, but also to obey. I remember reading from a ministry excerpt, if we are unwilling to obey, why should the Lord bother speaking and enlightening us on particular matters? Guess our whole being needs to be before Him.

Rise up, my love

Enjoyed this song based on verses in Song of Songs.

Rise up, my love, my beautiful one,
And come away, for behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
Flow'rs appear on the earth,
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtle dove
Is heard in our land.
My beloved is mine,
And I am His,
He who feeds His flocks among the lilies.
'Til the day breaks,
And the shadows flee away,
Come my beloved,
Come my beloved!
Rise up, my love, my beautiful one
And come away, for behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.

It's easy to drift into introspection, but the Lord is calling for us to rise up, and come to Him. Rather than staying in our self emotions, we should realize that the winter is past, no need to remain in our old condition; instead we should declare He is Mine and I am His.

Oftentimes we don't understand and even might question the situations we are experiencing. Just need to realize that the Lord has His ways.
